FAQ

Nervous about trying it?

That’s completely normal. Most guests arrive with zero foiling or boating experience, and the progression starts slowly and builds naturally, step by step.

You’re never pushed beyond your comfort level.

Not at all. Our experiences are designed for first-time riders.

We guide you step by step through the progression using live headset coaching and a dedicated support boat, so all of our new pilots reach controlled flight during their very first session.

The experience is private too, paced around your comfort level and adapted in real time as you progress.

Safety is built into the entire experience.

You’ll wear a life vest and protective equipment, and the session is supervised at all times by both a coach and a dedicated support boat. The progression starts slowly and builds step by step as your confidence grows, though you should still expect to get wet while learning.

All safety decisions are made by Foilone.

This is not a traditional rental-experience.

Instead, our experiences are guided hydrofoiling flights with live coaching, safety supervision, progression training, and a dedicated support crew throughout the session.

The goal is not just to ride. It’s to experience controlled flight over water

Yes. Earn and Master Your Wings is designed for 1–2 riders per experience.

Many guests book together as couples or friends and take turns riding, while coaching and progression continue throughout the session.

For larger groups or private experiences, contact us directly. And if you book a experience for yourself, you can still bring a friend or partner along on the support boat.

We call foiling with the boat “flying,” so yes, you really will learn how to fly it.

The experience is structured around progression, not simply “trying” the boat. Throughout the experience, your coach keeps adjusting the pace based on your confidence and skill level.

The moment the boat lifts, everything changes.

The noise drops away, the water resistance disappears, and the ride becomes smooth and incredibly responsive. Most people describe it as the closest thing to flying over water.

Earn Your Wings 2 hours, and the Master Your Wings 2-4 hours.

Each experience includes a briefing and the on-water progression. Note that pick-up transfer time is not included in the times.

Safety and ride quality always come first.

So if conditions become unsuitable due to strong wind, storms, or unsafe water, we’ll reschedule your session based on availability.

Light rain alone does not necessarily stop operations, and we monitor Lake Como conditions continuously throughout the day.

Cancellation is free up to 7 days before your session, and you can cancel directly via your booking confirmation link.

A 50% refund applies 2–6 days before, so if you’re cancelling within 6 days, please reach out to como@foil.one. Within 2 days, no refund is available, and no-shows are non-refundable.

This policy is in place so we can secure our workforce throughout the season.

You may reschedule your experience at any time.

Yes. For operational and safety reasons, the maximum participant weight is 100 kg / 220 lbs, and guests confirm this at booking.

Just bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, and a good attitude.

We provide the wetsuit, safety equipment, coaching headset, and everything else needed for the experience.

All safety briefings and coaching are conducted in English, so a basic understanding of the language is required to participate safely.

The coaching itself is simple, clear, and continuous through wireless headsets while you ride. Our coaches also speak Spanish, Swedish, and Finnish, so please consult us before booking if English isn’t an option for you.

Each experience requires a dedicated boat, a coach, preparation time, and a recovery window between rides.

So to maintain quality and safety, we run only a limited number of experiences per day.

Absolutely. The experience makes a perfect gift between couples, and equally for birthdays, honeymooners, luxury gifting, bachelor groups, and corporate clients.

Just make sure all participants meet the requirements.

Yes, and this is one of those experiences people really do want to share.

Flying above the water on Lake Como creates moments that feel unreal on camera and even better in person, so you’ll have the option to opt in during your briefing if you’d like content from your session.

Language: basic English to understand directions.

Minimum age: 18 or older.

Weight: under 100 kg (220 lbs).

Swimming: participant must be able to swim confidently.

Health: no major health conditions.
