The Foilone staff was really nice and professional and the experience was exactly as described. The only downside was that I would have wanted to try flying myself, but we didn’t have enough time. Spending our afternoon learning to fly on Como was the best decision of this year! Mathias and Johan spent the afternoon teaching us how to operate the foil boat and they are the best teachers you could wish for. Advantages of this experience - foil boat is followed by the motorboat, from where the teachers and your friends can track your progress - the pilot has a headset and Mathias instructs you in real time - Mathias has several exercises prepared that help you first drive in the "boat mode", then lift the nose of the boat on the front foil, and then, finally, fly - Johan drives the motorboat next to the foil boat, so you are never alone on the lake. And he also makes the cool pics and videos of the whole experience Disadvantages - there aren't any! The boat flies right above the water level with no noise at all! Excepting the electrical motor, controls of the boat are fully mechanical, which means an instant reaction to any input. This enhances the feeling and satisfaction once you manage to hold it in a stable position and keep sailing forward. In a group of four, we’ve managed to reach the highest level of riding the foil boat in a matter of couple hours. The learning is quite intuitive, since it’s similar to the motorcycle. Mathias and Johan are real professionals of their field. It’s clear from the very beginning that they’re extremely passionate of their work, proud of being a part of a team.
