How the Pegasus Flies

The Pegasus doesn’t just ride on the water. It rises above it, with a control system that is engineered for precision and rider intuition. Every element, from the foil configuration to the way you steer and throttle, is designed to make the experience feel intuitive, responsive and deeply satisfying.

Two In-Line Foils
The Pegasus uses a two-foil configuration. One in the front and one in the rear. The foils are aligned in a straight line beneath the hull. This configuration is agile, responsive, and ideal for single-rider control.
Control Systems
The pegasus is controlled by two handles and throttle pedal. Steering is done through two handles that mimic bike handlebars: push with one hand, pull with the other. It’s simple and precise, especially when foiling at speed. Throttle is managed with your right foot using a pressure-sensitive pedal, just like in a car. The more you press, the more current is delivered to the motor. Together, these controls make the ride feel second nature, whether you’re learning your first takeoff or carving turns with full confidence.
Front Foil Steering
Unlike traditional boats that steer from the back, Pegasus uses the front foil for steering. Rear steering while foiling would make the boat unstable and difficult to control. With the steering foil positioned at the front, lateral balance becomes intuitive - much like staying upright on a bike. Additionally, the large vertical surface of the front foil provides precise handling at low speeds in displacement mode.
Height Control
As Pegasus reaches foiling speed, around 10 knots, the horizontal foils generate enough lift to raise the boat out of the water. Height is regulated by a mechanical surface sensor, or wand, connected to the front foil flap. When the boat rides low, water pressure pushes the wand back, increasing the flap’s angle of attack and generating more lift. When it flies too high, a bungee pulls the wand forward, reducing the flap’s angle of attack, which in turn reduces lift. The result is a self-regulating height control system.
Flap Gearing System
Pegasus features a custom-designed reduction gear system between the mechanical height sensor and the front foil’s flap. This lets the pilot adjust how sensitive the boat is to surface conditions. A higher gear ratio filters out wave input for a smoother, more stable ride, ideal for cruising in chop. A lower gear ratio makes the boat more responsive, giving experienced riders tighter feedback and more dynamic control. It’s a mechanical innovation that lets you fine-tune the ride to your style, surface conditions, or mood.
Lateral Control
While foiling, Pegasus constantly shifts from side to side, and keeping balance is up to the pilot. The two steering handles in the cockpit mimic the feel of bike handlebars, letting you make microadjustments that keep the boat upright and stable. As the boat begins to tip to either side, you instinctively steer the front foil under the hull to correct it, just like you learned to do on a bicycle as a kid. Turning works the same way: it starts with a slight countersteer to initiate the lean into the direction you want to turn, then you steer into the turn to control the turn radius. The more you let the boat lean, the tighter the turn. It’s intuitive, responsive, and deeply satisfying to master.

Elegant Aestethics

The Pegasus, crafted from carbon fiber, offers unmatched strength and lightness. Our design draws rich inspiration from a diverse heritage of speed and function: the sleek aerodynamics of 1950’s F1 cars, the rounded, efficient contours of WW1 aircrafts, and the bolder aesthetics of modern luxury cars. This fusion of historical elegance and contemporary boldness creates a design that is both a tribute to the past and a bold stride into the future.

Why PEGASUS?

Timeless Design, Crafted to Last

Pegasus fuses the sleek performance of 1970s Formula cars with the elegance of WW1 aircraft and the confidence of modern luxury. Every curve is shaped with intent so it looks as fast as it feels, today and decades from now. Designed for bold riders who value design that never goes out of style.

Intuitive Control, Instantly Familiar

You’re in charge from the first moment. With front steering and a riding dynamic similar to a bike, foiling with Pegasus feels natural. Just your hands, your feet, and your instincts. It’s easy to pick up and endlessly rewarding to master.

Engineering That Disappears Beneath You

Dual in-line foils. Self-adjusting mechanical height control. Tunable flap gearing. All designed to deliver balance and performance without a second thought. It's smart tech, made invisible.

Carbon Fiber. All of It.

Pegasus is built entirely from carbon fiber for a reason: it’s light, incredibly strong, and precise. The result? Immediate response, higher speed, and an unmistakably sharp ride.

Electric, Effortless, and Clean

Zero emissions. Zero wake. Near-zero noise. Pegasus lets you ride hard all while respecting onlookers and the surroundings. No fuel, no mess, no disturbance to the world you explore.

Lead. Don’t Follow.

Pegasus isn’t made for the mainstream. It’s for the few who want something radically different and are bold enough to ride it. Not everyone gets it. That’s the point.

Safety embedded in the design

Safety is embedded in our powertrain design. Our 48V batteries are sourced from Torqeedo, known for their reliability and innovation. Accessible and swappable batteries mitigate the risks related to charging and allow all-day flying without having to stop the fun for charging.

How to Launch and Retrieve the Foilone Pegasus

Launching and retrieving the Pegasus is straightforward and designed for flexibility—whether you’re using a cradle, trailer, or crane.

On Land

The Pegasus is typically stored on a wheeled cradle or a trailer. While both work, the cradle offers more flexibility for handling and maintenance. Both foils (front and rear) are retractable, and the hull is shaped to accommodate the horizontal foils when lifted. When the foils are retracted, the only appendage below the hull is the lower unit (gearbox housing and propeller).

Launch Options

Ramp Launch (Slipway)
  • Roll the cradle or trailer down the slipway.

  • Once the boat is afloat, secure the boat to a dock or support vessel.

  • Lower the foils into position:

    • Front foil: Insert and secure with a quick-release pin.

    • Rear foil: Attach using four M8 bolts.

  • Connect motor phase wires at the rear bulkhead.

Note: Solo launch is possible in calm conditions, but assistance or a tie-off is recommended for safety and ease.

2. Crane Launch

Use either:

  • Four lifting points in the cockpit, or

  • Lifting straps under the hull.

Once lifted:

  • Option A: Keep suspended, lower foils, and fasten with ladder access.

  • Option B: Lower into water, then secure the foils from onboard or support vessel.

  • Connect motor phase wires before operation.

Retrieving the Pegasus

Reverse the process:

  1. Disconnect phase wires.

  2. Retract foils:

    • Remove front foil pin and lift foil.

    • Remove rear M8 bolts and lift foil.

  3. Recover the boat using a crane, cradle, or trailer.

That’s it. Launching and retrieving the Pegasus is intuitive, fast, and designed to fit your preferred setup.
