The comments started before the video had finished loading.

“AI trash.” “Fake.” “CGI.” “If only it were real.” “Lol A.I.” “AI BS.” “Haha love your fake boat.”

One post. Thousands of comments like it across dozens of videos. Scroll far enough and the pattern becomes almost rhythmic. Someone watches a blue boat rise silently above the surface of Lake Como, carve a clean turn, and disappear into the distance, and their first instinct is to reach for the nearest explanation: it’s generated. It’s fake. Someone made this on a computer.

We’ve been watching these comments for a while now. We’ve debated how to respond. And we’ve decided the right answer isn’t a reply in the comment section.

It’s this.

It starts in a workshop in Finland

Before there’s a video. Before there’s a boat on a lake. Before there is anything to call fake, there’s a workshop. And people with ideas.

This is where Pegasus began. Not in a rendering suite. Not in a prompt. In a workshop in Finland, with foam, carbon fiber, and people who know every millimeter of what they’re making.

For all this to feel real, those people and the process behind it are worth meeting.

Hand-built. That phrase appears in our marketing and we mean it literally. Every hull that leaves our workshop is shaped, laid, assembled, and finished by hand. There is no other way to build the Pegasus.

What happens on the lake

The Pegasus is now at Hotel Nautilus on the eastern arm of Lake Como. Four times a day, from May through September, someone who has never foiled before walks down the dock and earns their wings.

That’s what the Earn Your Wings experience is. A structured progression from first briefing to controlled flight, with a coach talking to you through a headset the entire time and a support RIB alongside you throughout. You go from never having sat behind the controls of a foiling boat to carving turns above the water.

Most people don’t believe it’s possible until they do it.

Ask our guests what it feels like when the Pegasus lifts, and they reach for the same words.

  – Christian Walzl: “Pure adrenalin. But with the friendly help of my teacher Mathias I managed to feel flying and safe.”

  – Anton Hromov: “The boat flies right above the water level with no noise at all.”

  – Olya Kopach: “Spending our afternoon learning to fly on Como was the best decision of this year.”

  – Vladimir Travkin: “Absolutely amazing experience. The team at Foilone was professional, friendly, and made the whole learning process fun and easy. I’ll definitely be back.”

These are people who were eager, and probably a bit nervous when they arrived. Some had never foiled before. Some had no boating experience at all. They all came back to the dock with wet hair and wide eyes, and reached for their phones to tell someone about it.

That’s not something you can fake.

Why it keeps looking fake

Here’s the honest answer to why the comments keep coming.

Most boats announce themselves. They’re loud. They throw spray. They sit heavy in the water and fight it the whole time. When you watch a boat and you don’t see any of that, your brain reaches for an explanation. The simplest one is: someone made this up.

The Pegasus removes everything that signals “real boat”. The noise is gone. The wake is gone. The struggle is gone. What’s left looks too clean to be true.

That isn’t an accident of design. It’s the point.

Come and see it yourself

The comments will keep coming. We’ve made peace with that. There’s no caption long enough, no response thorough enough, to convince someone who has already decided.

But if you’re reading this and you’re genuinely curious, if some part of you wondered whether it might be real, there’s one way to settle it. Come to Lake Como. Get in the boat. Feel it lift.

100% OF NEW PILOTS HAVE EARNED THEIR WINGS

You arrive having never flown above water. Two hours later, you leave with a Flight Certificate, a Pilot Cap, and a story that starts: “You know that trip we took to Lake Como…”

Most experiences are beautiful. Earn Your Wings is unforgettable.
